Extending telephone box office hours

As demand continues to grow for our telephone box office service, we've decided to bring forward our plans to offer extended opening hours.

We'll be increasing the telephone box office hours from Monday, 18 June 2012 to include Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 8.00pm* and Saturday from 9.00am to 6.00pm (*excluding bank holidays)

Customers choosing to use the telephone service will pay the same rate as someone booking online and choosing to receive "standard post" tickets i.e. tickets + any booking fee applied to your account + the standard post rate of £1.50.

If you'd like to use our telephone box office service and haven't yet registered your interest, drop us a line at boxoffice@ticketsource.co.uk and we'll send you some further details about the service.

Telephone box office

We're ecstatic about the uptake of our telephone box office service which is now well established and operating on behalf of several event organisers.

As a result of demand for the service, we'll be increasing the opening hours from June to include Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 5.30pm with a call back facility operating out of hours. We're also intending to extend the telephone box office availability in to the evenings from September.

Customers choosing to use the telephone service will pay the same rate as someone booking online and choosing to receive "standard post" tickets i.e. tickets + any booking fee applied to your account + the standard post rate of £1.50.

Ticket delivery by standard post update

In response to the Royal Mail's increase in postage costs, last month we announced that we would be increasing the charge for our standard post ticket delivery option to £1.50 per transaction plus £0.05 per ticket (to offset the extra costs we incur for larger orders that exceed the weight limits of the Royal Mail's standard letter service)

Having run with this model over the past month and crunched the numbers a few more times, we're happy to announce that we no longer feel that this increase is necessary.

From Tuesday 1st May we will revert to our original charge for postal delivery of a flat £1.50 per transaction.

If you haven't tried it yet....

The standard post delivery option enables customers to receive their tickets in the post directly from TicketSource. The option is available for online bookings made up to four days before the event.

As always, the customer will have the option to print their own e-tickets at home at no additional cost.

Restricting account access to selected events

It's commonplace for venues to host touring companies or private hires.

Those individual companies can now benefit from all of the features of TicketSource by accessing your venue's TicketSource account to record ticket sales and view the ticket sales reports for their own events only, without being able to access anyone else's events listed on your account.

When setting up a new user account via the "Account Settings | User Account Administration" menu option in your TicketSource account, you're able to select which events the user should be able to access.

STAR membership

Secure Tickets from Authorised Retailers
We're delighted to announce that our application for membership to STAR (the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers) has been approved.

STAR members comply with a code of practice designed to help protect customers. You can be sure that a STAR member will always:
  • Clearly identify the face value of any tickets purchased and any additional booking fees
  • Refund at least the face value of the ticket if an event is cancelled and the promoter agrees to refunds
  • Handle bookings politely and courteously, giving the highest standards of professional service
  • Highlight any terms and conditions, including transferability, cancellation and viewing restrictions

Your customers can now book online from TicketSource with confidence and in the knowledge that they'll be buying tickets from a secure and trusted primary ticket agent.

For further information about STAR, you can visit their website at www.star.org.uk

Ticket delivery by standard post

Since introducing our standard post option at the beginning of February, we've had an outstanding uptake of customers booking online and choosing to receive their tickets in the post.

With the Royal Mail announcing that they will be substantially increasing the cost of postage from April 2012, we have reviewed our pricing strategy and from Sunday 1st April 2012, we will continue to offer ticket delivery by standard post as an option to customers for £1.50 per transaction plus £0.05 per ticket (so for example, a customer booking two tickets online and choosing to receive their tickets by standard post will be charged an additional £1.60 on the booking)

As always, the customer will have the option to print their own e-tickets at home at no additional cost (unlike some of our competitors who charge customers to print their own e-tickets!)
